EMPACT Project’s Fund
On February first 2021, the president of University of Sulaimaniya, Professor Dr. Raza Hussain, signed a contract with WFP’s country director in Iraq, Mr. whaele, in order to execute EMPACT project. The project aims at enhancing English language and IT skills especially targeting young beneficiaries including IDPs, refugees living in camps and the host communities in Sulaimani and Darbandikhan as well. The gifted amount to fund the project being (376265500 IQD).

ان مشروع (EMPACT) بالشراكة مع منظمة الاغذية العالمي (WFP) الذي يتم تنفيذه من قبل جامعة السليمانية – من خلال مركز التطوير الوظيفي(CDC)، يساعد اللاجئين السوريين و النازحين من داخل العراق و الشباب في مدينة السليمانية و دربنديخان من كلا الجنسين والمجتمعات التي تستضيفهم نحو بناء مستقبل مشرق و مزدهر. يهدف برنامج الى توفيرالبيئة العلمية الملائمة للمجتمعات المتعددة الجنسيات و على تطوير مهارات المشتركين و تهيئهم لفرص العمل في المستقبل من خلال فتح الدورات التدريبية التي تتضمن دورات (اللغة الانكليزية و برامج العلمية الحديثة في علم الحاسوب) وتساهم في تبادل الثقافات و الاراء المختلفة في عصرنا الحالي من اجل ترسيخ فرص العمل في المستقبل و تلبية كل من احتياجاتهم العلمية، و تنفيذ البرنامج يكون عن طريق (Online).
1. يجب ان يكون عمر المشترك بين (18-35) سنة.
2. يجب ان يكون المشترك متفرغا للدورة.
3. يحق لكل اسرة ان تشترك بفرد واحد في الدورة.

پرۆژەی (EMPACT) بە چاودێری بەرنامەی خۆراکی جیهانی (WFP) وجێ بەجێ کردنی لە لایەن زانکۆی سلێمانی – سەنتەری پەرەپێدانی هەلی کار(CDC)ەوە هاوکاری گەنجانی پەنابەری سوری و ئاوارەی ناوخۆ و گەنجانی سنوری پارێزگای سلێمانی و دەربەندیخان دەکات بە مەبەستی بنیادنانی داهاتوویەکی گەش و پرشنگدار، وە دەستەبەرکردنی ژینگەیەکی زانست کە لە ئاست خواست و ویستی هەمووگەل و نەتەوەکان جیاوازەکاندا بێت. بە کردنەوەی خولی زانستی سەردەمیانە کە بریتین لە خولەکانی (زمانی ئینگلیزی و زانستی کۆمبیوتەر) کە دەبێتە داهاتێک بۆ ئاڵوگۆڕکردنی کەلتوور و بۆچوونە جیاوازەکان بە مەبەستی بەدەست هێنانی هەلی کار لە ئێستاو لە داهاتوودا وە دابینکردنی پێداویستییە زانستی و ڕۆشنبیری و مادییەکان. وە پرۆژەکە بە ڕێگای (Online) جێبەجێ دەکرێت.

Hult Prize Event
Along with the activities of our Career Development Center (CDC), this year, for the first time, Sulaimani University had the opportunity to attend the international competition (Hult Prize), under the supervision of (Hult) and (UN) organizations. Every year, this international competition takes place by attending nearly 2000 universities among (121) countries worldwide to choose the best entrepreneurship idea. The focus of this year competition is about improving the (international food system).The person , with the best idea will receive one million dollar from America so as to let the winner start up his/her business.
Today, 08/12/2020, with the presence of Dr Peshraw Hama jan Aziz, the vice president for students affairs, and dr . Kawa Muhammad Ameen Vice president for Scientific Affairs and Postgraduate Studies, along with the participation of 8 teams consisting (31) students, as on its first stage it was held in the Sulaimany university campus. The best entrepreneurship concept was selected among the students by a justice committee, the members of this committee included (dr. Najih Sameen Ahmed,from college of commerce, administration department., dr. Sirwan Ahmad Mam Rashid from agriculture college/food science department, Dawur Foad technology general director of (Plus the edge) company, and mr. Ameer Sardar Kwekha Rasheed,the director of Career Development Center (CDC) of Sulaimani university. (Rawan) team became the winner of this competition. Students in this team were (Zhilan Dara, Aseen Fahmi, Wizhdan Ibrahim, and Sana Danial).They presented their entrepreneurship idea in English language.
Looking forward to prepare this champion team for a scientific trip for the final stage which will be held in Turkey in March.
Workshop Hold
On the 5th of October 2020 the Career Development Center (CDC) at the University of Sulaimani was held a webinar under the title (Job Hunting or Self-employment) by an international trainer (Mr. Gharib Salih Salih) and instructor at the University of Sulaimani / College of Languages in the Department of Translation for the Sulaimani University students.

On the 6th of September, 2020, we virtually met with selected students for the Career Preparation Academy Training. The main purpose of the meeting was to ensure that the students are well skilled in using Zoom Meeting App. Moreover; we briefly went through the Career Preparation Academic Program (CPAP) and assignments in order to prepare them for the session meeting.
